Our drive for perfection has led us to implement the most efficient advanced technological and biological research unit

  • IPM stands for integrated pest management which works towards optimising plant nutrition in combination with Bio control agents (green chemistry) to reduce the costs of plant protection and at the same time achieve increased crop yield and quality.
  • It is plant nutrition; which is the combination of both inorganic and organic fertilizer (fusion farming) regimes
  • It maximises plant health and resistance to infestation by pest and disease
  • It’s ideal in finding bio control agents that will work with each crop
  • Some of Oserian’s commercially adopted bio control agents are largely fungicidal in nature and can combat a range of diseases

  • On 11th July 2007, we celebrated the first of many 'birthdays - 12 months of rose growing in one hectare without having to use any chemical acaricide sprays. A year ago Oserian began implement a unique inundative programme of biological the control for spider mites
  • Introduction rates for Phytoseiulus, the predatory mite, range from 1 to 2 million per hectare in one single application which virtually eliminates mites entirely from the crop within 6 to 8 weeks
  • We have successfully converted 100% Roses area to IPM (Phytoseiulus Programme). Further programmes for control of other pests and diseases are still ongoing with the control of thrips for the control of rust in carnation and powdery mildew in roses, caterpillar, white fly and aphid control.
  • It is planned that Carnations will be 100% IPM by 1st March 2011
